Ovarro technology showcased Australian SCADA event
Technology company Ovarro will showcase its telemetry solutions at the OT, ICS and SCADA Automation event in Brisbane, Australia, on 12-13 November 2024.
The event comes at an exciting time for Ovarro, which in September 2024 was acquired by Indicor, a global industrial solutions company specialising in mission-critical technologies. The move has strengthened Ovarro’s capabilities, enhanced its ability to deliver innovative solutions for critical infrastructure management and opened up opportunities for growth.
Among the technology demonstrated in Brisbane will be Ovarro’s SCADA - Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition - systems, with a strong focus on how they can support net zero 2050 goals.
SCADA enables real-time monitoring and control of assets and is a crucial yet frequently overlooked tool for advancing sustainability strategies. Primarily used by industrial sectors, such as manufacturing and utilities, and for management of critical infrastructure, SCADA can help sites operate more efficiently and reduce carbon emissions by:
• Optimising energy usage by detecting inefficiencies
• Enabling rapid response to operational issues
• Supporting predictive maintenance
• Tracking key metrics relating to environmental regulations.
• Cutting travel between sites
Sylvana van de Scheur, product designer SCADA at Ovarro, said: “SCADA systems are often overlooked in discussions about green technologies, compared to more visible initiatives like renewable energy projects.
“But for industry, the technology will prove critical in ensuring operational efficiency, reducing resource consumption and enhancing overall sustainability, particularly when combined with cloud-based monitoring systems like Ovarro’s StreamWebscada.”
Ovarro’s Kingfisher and TBox LT2 remote telemetry units (RTU) work seamlessly with SCADA and will also be showcased in Brisbane. The TBox was recently selected by Greater Western Water of Victoria, Australia, to assist in updating and optimising its modern operational technology system.
Kingfisher RTUs were recently deployed by Hastings District Council and Napier City Council in Hawke’s Bay, on New Zealand’s North Island. The two local authorities wanted a single, standardised remote telemetry solution across their water and wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations.
Paul Stute, regional sales manager at Ovarro said: “We are looking forward to showcasing Ovarro’s latest developments in the field of operational technology, industrial control systems and SCADA to delegates in Brisbane.
“With 40 years’ experience delivering SCADA software for critical infrastructure, Ovarro has a wealth of case studies to discuss, including our recent projects for Greater Western Water, Hastings District Council and Napier City Council.
“Do join the Ovarro team to hear more about these projects, and for live demos of our technology, expert insights into securing critical infrastructure and a forward look at our how we are further driving innovation, sustainability and value for our customers.”
