Student Placement Programme - Software Engineer
Ovarro is a company with real purpose. Our RTUs and SCADA have underpinned critical infrastructure for over 40 years and our leak detection portfolio is helping to drive towards a global sustainable future. We are constantly challenging ourselves to make improvements and this year we are looking to bring in some great Student Placement Engineers.
To better enable your development, we will look to provide you with 3-month rotations in 4 different Ovarro teams. This should provide you with the opportunity, and support required, to overcome several key challenges that you may not have access to when assigned to only one team. These rotations should give you potential access to Project Delivery, SCADA Support, Product Development, Business Analysis, or QA. Once you graduate, having had the exposure to most technical challenges you could face, we would hope you feel confident that your first year of work will be a complete success (hopefully with Ovarro once we have Graduate roles available)
The key areas we would need for you to apply for this placement would be that you come from a Programming/Software Engineer/Computer Science degree, this is important as you may face many technical challenges in your placement year. Understanding of Object Orientated programming languages is also key. We use Java here but if you don’t have knowledge of that we can help you to develop.
Most importantly though is who you are as a person. Do you love tech? Do you enjoy being challenged technically? Do you have a passion for learning new technologies? Can you solve problems alone or as part of a team?
If Yes, we’d love to hear from you!
What we provide – a varied placement year where you face many technical challenges that will aid your development through final year and beyond
What we need from you – enrolled on a programming degree and developing a good knowledge of an OO language plus a love for all things tech
Ovarro recognise the need for a diverse workforce and we are committed to equal opportunities in employment.
Ovarro employees and candidates who apply to work at Ovarro will be treated fairly and valued equally.
