ACCELEROMETER SENSOR

The Enigma5M sensor is a sensitive acoustic piezoelectric accelerometer, which is coupled magnetically to the pipe. It detects and locates even quiet leaks in metal pipes remotely and very accurately over long distances, meaning fewer loggers are needed per kilometre of network.

ANTENNA BELOW GROUND

The antenna transmits the acoustic signals from the logger coupled to the pipe below ground. Being underground means no planning permission is needed to install transmitters or repeaters, and vulnerable hardware is protected from damage or theft, which can occur on the street.  Now with an even greater IP68 rating.

DATA ANALYTICS WITH PATENTED TECHNOLOGY

The Enigma5M is supported by the Ovarro data platform, Atrium. This provides a database, analysis, and online viewing facility for remote leaks in the network, as well as for flow and pressure. It is accessible on any desktop or laptop and displays live and historical data. Indicating accurate leak positions, together with 'street view' visualization of the leak position, helps leakage teams manage their networks.

Leak noise correlation signals are transmitted accurately to the cloud analytics platform, Atrium. Just a 0.1-second fluctuation in the time synchronization of two sound samples can cause a 100-meter error in the location. To calculate the location of the leak accurately, synchronizing acoustic sample signals is critical to pinpointing the position of the leak. Ovarro uses its original patented technique to ensure signals are synchronized and leaks are located with very high accuracy.

The Enigma5M offers quick setup via Bluetooth and the Enigma5 app eliminating the need for the original communications module. Now available with advanced MQTT security ensuring reliable, encrypted data transmission.
