TorqueAssist is a revolutionary App from Ovarro that uses data capture to provide quality assurance when assembling flanged and mechanical joints. It’s designed to work with most Bluetooth-enabled torque wrenches, allowing end users to capture installation information (include gasket and bolt type, location, weather and more) and automatically set torque values and record digital outputs from the torque wrench.

In the utility sector, pipeline construction is highly dependent on the pressure test - but there is uncertainty. Independent data shows that up to 30 per cent of new installations fail their pressure test first time, mostly due to weeps and leaks on mechanical joints. All of these failures would have been preventable with the right education, guidance and data capture. This is where TorqueAssist plays a crucial role.

Operatives can confidently use the TorqueAssist app within a few minutes, once they have adjusted to a digital torque wrench compared to a conventional torque wrench. We also provide support on mobilisation and roll-out, and spending time in the field with operators is key to why Ovarro’s product is proven to be user friendly, efficient and reliable.

Ovarro recommends end users receive EUSR training to gain the underpinning knowledge in flange assembly. This can be provided by us, and the old saying, “It’s not knowing what to do that makes a skilled tradesperson, it’s knowing why to do,” is at the core of all Ovarro’s training.
