Project Analyst

To achieve our goals we need team members who fully live our OneTeam value which is at the heart of everything we do at Ovarro.  Our new Project Analyst will be responsible for collecting and analysing data to help a range of clients manage complex water and environmental systems.

You will add impact at Ovarro by;

  • Using your expertise to collect, review and validate data through the use of advanced computerised models, mathematics and algorithms.
  • Working on data analytics and modelling projects, this involves providing support on various data initiatives bringing together optimisation and statistical modelling.
  • Working within a team to Design and Test solutions (analytical and software) to specified deadlines.
  • Developing algorithms, and using statistical tools such as computer programmes 
  • Applying mathematical models and algorithms in innovative ways to solve customer and industry problems and translate into new analytic products
  • Conducting demonstrations of software to clients

Candidates should possess;

  • Coding skills to automate data processing and validation and build mathematical models; we use a combination of R, VBA and Python languages depending on the task
  • Degree qualified in a numerate subject (e.g. Engineering, Computing or Maths) with a strong applied maths element and preferably a module in statistics and/or operations research. A relevant post-graduate qualification can be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of statistics and analytical techniques (R^2, linear regression, maximum likelihood, cluster analysis, hypothesis tests, time-series analysis).
  • Relational database processing skills (we use MS Access and MS SQL Server depending on the task)
  • Ability to write reports suitable for technical and non-technical audiences, including word processing skill
