Principal Software Engineer

One of our key product offerings, SCOPE, is a secure software telemetry and SCADA platform for monitoring and controlling a diverse range of assets in real-time. SCOPE unifies people, processes and assets from small plant installations through to the management of entire organisations’ operational networks.

We’re now looking for a Principal Software Developer to take ownership in driving successful project outcomes as the leader of an experienced software team producing high-quality software to deadlines ensuring user needs are being met.

As a Principal Software Developer, you will be:

• Leading and taking responsibility for the activities during the full software development lifecycle such as requirement analysis, design and implementation of new software features and products, as well as maintenance of the existing functionalities such as resolving defects.
• Define and maintain the architecture and technology standards and best practices for SCOPE products, applications and databases to complement the business vision.
• Respond to all types of escalated, complex queries and problems from customers and team and will provide in-depth technical support to team members by researching and answering complex questions. Ensure root cause analysis is carried out for all incidents.
• Work closely with clients and other stakeholders from the business to understand and document requirements for new solutions.  Influences those stakeholders on feasibility of potential solutions based on specialist knowledge and experience to ensure successful outcomes.
• To support the continuous development and mentoring of more junior colleagues ensuring appropriate resources are available and facilitating the sharing, collaboration and communication of knowledge.

Interested? To be considered as a Principal Software Developer, you will need:

• Experience in a similar role investigating, defining and resolving complex issues
• Experience working in an Agile environment with teams across the globe is advantageous
• Experience of having delivered software using agile methodologies, and experience of working using the scrum framework.
• Fluent in either Java, C/C++ with demonstrable experience
• Experience of using both Windows and Linux operating systems for both local development and production deployments
