The Phocus3M from Ovarro combines specialist leak noise detection and versatile communications technology to create a fixed network of loggers to monitor leakage in your water network, complete with market-leading antenna technology that reduces Opex by limiting downtime. The logger samples pipeline noise at one-second intervals during each of three sample epochs during the night when background acoustic noise is lowest.

Advanced antenna

Potential leak areas quickly identified

PrimeWeb interprets the acoustic leakage data and performs advanced data analytics to identify the location of leaks.

The logger samples pipeline noise at one-second intervals during each of the three sample epochs during the night when background noise is lowest. Statistical analysis is performed on each of the three epochs to determine the Leakage Confidence Factor LCF. The minimum leak noise is also measured, termed the Critical Noise Value. CNV is important as a measure of how close to the leak the logger is situated.

Flexible deployment

Phocus3M loggers can be deployed as fixed, semi-permanently or “lift & shift”. This allows leakage managers to make a strategic choice as to how they cover their water network and deploy their loggers. This flexibility saves CAPEX and OPEX.

Antenna below ground

The antenna transmits the acoustic signals from the logger coupled to the pipe below ground. Being underground means no planning permission is needed to install transmitters or repeaters, and vulnerable hardware is protected from damage or theft. The antenna on the Phocus3m has excellent connectivity from below ground.
